Richard Anderson has died at the age of 91

The veteran actor – who was best known as government agency boss Oscar Goldman on both ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ and ‘The Bionic Woman’ – passed away from natural causes with his family by his side at his Beverly Hills home on Thursday (31.08.17).

His publicist, Jonathan Taylor, said he will be laid to rest in private services.

The ‘Forbidden Planet’ star is survived by his three daughters, Ashley, Brooke, and Deva, who he had with second wife Katharine Thalberg.

Richard was married to Katharine from 1961 to 1973, and also had a brief marriage to Carol Lee Ladd, from 1955 to 1956.

Richard played over 180 roles in his long career, including appearances on TV shows ‘Ironside’, ‘Murder she Wrote’, ‘Perry Mason’, and ‘Dynasty’, while his big screen credits included roles in ‘Forbidden Planet’, ‘Paths of Glory’ and ‘The Long Hot Summer’.

While the actor spent most of the 1950s working on movies, he gradually made the move over to TV and admitted he felt that was always the most popular medium.

He once said: “When I went into television, that’s where the audience was.

“And in my opinion, still is.”

The ‘Fugitive’ actor released his autobiography, which was co-written with Alan Doshna, ‘Richard Anderson: At Last … A Memoir, From the Golden Years of M-G-M to The Six Million Dollar Man to Now’, in 2015.
