Bobby Brown will sue over Bobbi Kristina movie broadcast

The television network is due to air a biopic about the star’s daughter – who passed away two years ago after spending six months in a coma – on October 8, but a lawsuit allegedly filed by the ‘My Prerogative’ hitmaker halt the production in its tracks.

The biopic, entitled ‘Bobbi Kristina’, stars Joy Rovaris as the daughter of the 48-year-old musician and his late ex-wife Whitney Houston, and is set to tell the story of Bobbi’s relationship with Nick Gordon, who last year was found legally responsible for her death and ordered to pay her family $36 million.

However, according to a report by GossipCop.com, Bobby’s lawsuit isn’t about his late daughter, but instead the way he is allegedly portrayed in the movie.

The publication states that in his court documents, Bobby claims that the movie depicts him being physically abusive with Whitney and unloving towards his daughter, and is seeking an injunction to stop the film from airing.

A further report from The Blast suggests Bobby is also seeking more than $1 million in damages on grounds of libel and slander.

Meanwhile, the New Edition singer revealed last year he was ultimately pleased with the outcome of the court case – which alleged Bobbi Kristina died due to a “violent altercation” with Nick, “after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture” – but urged prosecutors to press ahead with criminal proceedings.

He said in a statement: “I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings. I do know that Mr. Gordon will be unable to slander my daughter’s name in the future or obtain any benefits from the use of Krissy’s name.

“Finally, I do need for the District Attorney’s Office to step up and begin the criminal prosecution of Mr. Gordon. The delay in that matter is of great concern to me and my family. We need for District Attorney Howard to act now.”
