Pregnant woman is killed during drug raid after her boyfriend used her as shield while shooting at police

A mother said that her family had a longstanding family feud with police before her husband and son were arrested.

Police and a SWAT in Florida, went to the family’s home at 5:45 a.m., on a search warrant to carry out a drug raid.

When 37-year-old Andrew Coffee III saw deputies, he ran out of the home. However, he was caught and arrested.

While he was being arrested, his son, 23-year-old Andrew Coffee IV, armed himself with a gun, he used his girlfriend as a human shield and he shot at police.

One officer suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Police officers fired back at the suspect, and one bullet hit his girlfriend, 21-year-old Alteria Woods, who was allegedly pregnant.

Woods died and her boyfriend was taken into custody.

The son who faces charges which include attempted murder, is being held on $307,000 bail. The father is being held on $102,000.

After the shooting, officers searched the home and allegedly found drugs and painkillers.

According to police, Andrew Coffee III has more than 57 arrests and Andrew Coffee IV has more than 36 arrests.
