A man in Canada, was rushed to a hospital after shooting himself in the leg.
Durham Regional Police said during a press conference that the man was attempting to make a necklace with a single bullet and he suffered a leg injury after it exploded.
Officers were called to the home in Oshawa, at around 5:00 p.m., after the 50-year-old man, who was not named, shot himself in the leg.
The man told police that he was trying to pull apart a bullet with a plier.
The powder inside the bullet ignited and caused it to explode, hitting the man on the thigh. Several casing fragments also hit his leg.
The man told police that he was trying to make a necklace and did not know that the bullet can explode.
He was taken to a hospital, where her underwent surgery to remove the bullet and casings.
Police are urging people not try and manipulate ammunition as they still have the potential to explode.
