A young boy launched a vicious attack against a student who accidentally bumped into him in a hallway at school, according to police in Illinois.
South Elgin police said that they have arrested the 14-year-old suspect, who was not identified, after being accused of beating 12-year-old Henry Sembdner.
The suspect has been charged in juvenile court with aggravated battery. If convicted in juvenile court, the suspect faces a maximum of five years in prison.
The suspect was banned from leaving his home except to attend school.
According to the police investigation, the beating unfolded at the Kenyon Woods Middle School.
Sembdner allegedly accidentally bumped into the suspect in the hallway and in response, the 14-year-old boy body slammed the 12-year-old boy.
Sembdner suffered brain and skull injuries, and was placed in a medically induced coma. He is now recovering at home.
