Three Muslim brothers along with their friends preyed on young girls and raped them, according to police in the United Kingdom.
Rotherham police said that they have arrested Matloob Hussain, 37, Mohammed Maneer Sadiq, 36, and brothers Basharat, 33, Nasser, 37, and Tayab Dad, 35.
All of the suspects have been convicted of 21 child sex offenses at the Sheffield Crown Court. They all face up to life in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, the gang raped at least two young girls, who were 12 and 13 years old.
Reviewing lawyer Mark Langan from the CPS Yorkshire and Humberside Complex Casework Unit said: “These men have been found guilty of a catalogue of vile sex offenses against two young girls.
“The girls were targeted by these men because they were naive and vulnerable. They were given alcohol and cannabis, and intimidated into performing sexual acts. On one occasion, one of the young girls was locked alone in an apartment for hours without food, water or electricity.
“These young girls were subjected to the most appalling abuse at the hands of these men. They have both shown extraordinary courage in coming forward and enabling us to work with South Yorkshire Police to build a strong prosecution case, which resulted in the jury returning guilty verdicts on 21 out of 23 charges.”
Hussain was convicted of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13. Sadiq was convicted of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13.
Basharat has been convicted of 6 counts of rape, 2 counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, 5 counts of indecent assault, 1 count of false imprisonment.
Nasser has been convicted with 1 count of false imprisonment, 1 count of rape, 1 count of sexual assault and 1 count of inciting indecency with a child.
Tayab has been convicted of 1 count of rape.
