A doctor betrayed the trust of his young female patient by sexually assaulting her during an examination, according to police India.
Dugri police said that they have arrested the 42-year-old doctor who runs his own clinic, after being accused of committing an indecent act on his 12-year-old patient.
The doctor, who was not identified, has been charged with sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.
According to the criminal complaint, on Thursday morning, the 12-year-old girl with her grandmother went to the doctor’s clinic to fill a prescription.
The girl then went home with her grandmother before returning late in the afternoon. The girl told the doctor that she is suffering for extreme abdominal pain.
During the examination, the doctor performed an indecent act on the 12-year-old girl. When the girl resisted, he threatened her with serious consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone.
She later ran away from the scene and told her relatives about the attack.
