Parents find long snake hanging out among their kids’ toys

Snake hiding among children’s toys

The parents of several young kids in Queensland, Australia, called for help after finding a long snake curled up among their children’s toys underneath a couch.

Snake catcher Locki, who works for the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, said that on Tuesday, they were called to a residence to capture a Coastal Carpet Python that had been spotted hiding beneath the homeowners’ couch among some kids toys.

Luckily, the snake catchers were able to safely relocate the venomous reptile before any accidents happened.

Although Coastal Carpet Pythons are non-venomous and for the most part completely harmless, like most snakes, they certainly won’t hesitate to bite when they are feeling threatened.

More than 95 percent of snake bites occur when trying to catch or kill the reptiles.

When having an encounter with a snake, make sure to give it plenty of space and if need be, call a qualified snake catcher to safely relocate it.
