Hancock County police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Sascha Collins, after being accused of beating her two children, who are 7 and 9 years old.

Collins has been charged with two counts of battery. If convicted, she faces up to 12 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, the incident unfolded in the family home on Sunday.

The boys’ sister came home in the morning, and found her two brothers upset and crying.

The boys told their sister that they were beaten with a belt and thrown against a wall for opening the Christmas presents that were hidden in their mother’s closet.
