Head of Gambian army pledges support to president elect Barrow

The head of Gambia’s army, General Ousman Badjie, pledged allegiance to President Elect Adama Barrow in a phone call on Sunday, Barrow’s spokeswoman said on Wednesday, in a key sign of support as president Yahya Jammeh’s 22-year rule ends.
