Abdul Razak Ali Artan

A student who was angry that his college did not provide enough prayer rooms, went on a murderous rampage, attacking his classmates with a car and machete, according to police in Ohio.

On Monday morning around 9:30 a.m., 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Muslim teenager of Pakistan, attacked students at the Ohio State University in Columbus.

Artan was born in Somalia, and he and his family relocated to Pakistan before coming to the United States.

Artan rammed a car into a group of students, and he then ran out of the vehicle with a machete and stabbed several more people before being confronted by a police officer.

Minutes Artan began his attack, he was shot and killed by campus police officer Alan Horujko, 28. Eleven students suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack.

Six people were injured by the car ramming attack while five students suffered stab wounds. Prior to the attack, Artan complained that the college had not provided enough prayer rooms for Muslims.

He also complained that Americans were persecuting Muslims around the world.
