A little girl who was waiting for her church bus to arrive, was kidnapped and raped before being murdered and dumped near a vinegar plant, according to police in Illinois.
Olney police said that they have arrested 53-year-old Glen Ramey, after being accused of raping and killing 8-year-old Sabrina Stauffenberg.
Ramey has been charged with first-degree murder and predatory sexual assault. He was booked into the Richland County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
According to the police investigation, Stauffenberg had been on the phone with her grandmother while waiting for the church bus to arrive.
She expressed concern that it was getting late, and the bus has not yet arrived.
Her grandmother then called the church to ask about the delay, but when she tried to call Stauffenberg back, she was unable to reach her.
Ramey approached Stauffenberg on the porch of her home.
Stauffenberg was then abducted and taken to an undisclosed location. Ramey then raped Stauffenberg and killed her.
Stauffenberg’s body was found near a vinegar plant Wednesday evening, hours after she disappeared from the porch of her home.
