A man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing a young woman in a hit and run incident, according to police in Colorado.
Denver police said that they have arrested 25-year-old Tyler White, after being accused of being high on marijuana when he drove at speeds of up to 135 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone.
As a result of his reckless driving, White slammed into the car driven by 28-year-old Ariel Berryman. Berryman was taken to the hospital, where she died of blunt force injuries, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said.
White was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving death and third-degree assault.
He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $25,000.
According to the criminal complaint, White admitted to smoking marijuana before the crash. After crashing into Berryman’s car, White fled from the scene.
He went to the lake, where he took off all his clothes and danced with a statue in middle of the water. White then swam back to land, where he collapsed.
