A man accidentally destroyed his car after noticing a spider on his arm while driving near a lake, according to police in Australia.
New South Wales police said that the incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the driver, he was traveling along Kenwood Drive, when he noticed a spider crawling on his arm. He became distressed, and instead of hitting the brake, he pressed the accelerator and drove straight into Lake Cathie.
The car quickly became completely submerged in water. He tried to open the door, but it was jammed. Eventually, the driver crawled out the window, which was already open before driving into the lake.
The driver did not suffer any injuries, but the car was completely destroyed.
