Kanye West, Kim Kardashian help Alton Sterling’s son celebrate his 16th birthday

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West helped the eldest son of police-shooting victim Alton Sterling celebrate his 16th birthday in a big way.

The two stars met with Cameron Sterling and posed for a picture with him at West’s concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday, as seen in a photograph published by attorney Justin Bamberg.

“Shoutout to @kanyewest & @KimKardashian for showing 16th bday love last night to my client #CameronSterling, eldest son of #AltonSterling,” Bamberg captioned the snapshot on Twitter.

In the picture, Sterling is wearing a “Saint Pablo Tour” pass around his neck, though it’s unclear if he was personally invited to the show by West or Kardashian.

The teenager’s father became a focal point in the Black Lives Matter movement in July after he was fatally shot by white police outside a Baton Rouge, Louisiana convenience store. The officers responded to the scene, where Sterling was selling CDs, after someone called and claimed he had threated another person with a gun.

The shooting prompted a wave of national protests, and a number of celebrities including Kardashian spoke out against police violence.

“I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter,” Kardashian wrote in a blog post the day after the shooting.

“I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust the people who ‘protect and serve’ may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin.”

West, meanwhile, shared a link to the harrowing footage of the shooting on his Twitter account.

Kardashian’s snapshot with Cameron Sterling marked the first time she’s posed in a photo for social media since she was robbed at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room.

The reality star has been keeping a low-profile since the scary ordeal but has attended several of her husband’s concerts in recent weeks.
