Police launched an investigation after a husband was seen beating his wife, according to police in Nigeria.
Nasarawa police said that 30-year-old Tukur Paul, was questioned on Friday, after he was seen beating his wife, Jennifer Paul, around 9:30 p.m.
Neighbors of the couple managed to intervene and stop the attack before the woman was seriously injured. According to the police investigation, Tukur came home earlier in the evening after having a difficult day.
He went to bed to rest only to be woken up by his wife who complained about his snoring. Tukur became extremely angry and beat his wife.
Tukur told police that he was angry because his wife had not checked up on him the entire day and she disturbed his sleep.
Jennifer denied that she was angry about her husband’s snoring. However, she was angry that her husband disappeared for the entire day without telling her where he was going.
The two, who met 9 years ago, have three children together.
