4-year-old boy shoots his 2-year-old cousin in the chest

The parents of a 2-year-old shooting victim were arrested on a charge of child endangerment for being home while their child was shot in the chest, according to police Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia Police Department said that they have arrested 34-year-old Rachel Santiago and 34-year-old Omar Laboy-Vega, after a 4-year-old boy shot their child in the chest.

Santiago was charged with child endangerment while Laboy-Vega was charged with possession of a weapon.

According to the police investigation, the children have been playing with a gun in the 2-year-old boy’s home, which is located in the 3500 block of North 9th Street.

On Thursday around 4:30 p.m., the 4-year-old boy shot his 2-year-old cousin into the chest. The victim’s mother and her boyfriend were home at the time of the incident.

The 2-year-old boy was taken to the Temple University Hospital, and was then taken to the St. Christopher’s Hospital for children for further treatment.

The 2-year-old boy suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest, and is said to be in critical but stable condition.
