11-year-old leads police on high-speed chase after playing Grand Theft Auto

A young boy was detained after leading police on a high-speed chase, following a game of Grand Theft Auto, according to police in Canada.

Ontario police said that officers began pursuing the car after getting calls about a car driving erratically on the highway.

The incident unfolded on Saturday night, on Highway 400.

Officers caught up with the car and attempted to pull the driver over. As the police approached the vehicle, the driver took off.

Police pursued the vehicle, which traveled at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour. Eventually, police managed to stop the vehicle without causing a collision.

When officers pulled the driver out of the vehicle, they were shocked to learn that he was just 11 years old.

During questioning, the boy told police that he had been playing the Grand Theft Auto game at home, and wanted to see what it was like to drive a car.

Police did not file any charges against the boy, and he was released from custody to his parents.
