A woman, who lost her boyfriend in a car accident, was arrested for stealing a wallet from a paramedic.
Police in New Jersey, were called to the scene of an accident after a wallet was stolen out of the ambulance that attendant to a man who was struck and killed by a car.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Harrison Township at 1:40 p.m.
According to police, 25-year-old Brittany Carulli was allowed to sit in the ambulance “in order to mourn the loss of her boyfriend and stay out of the rain.”
The paramedic contacted police after she realized that her wallet was missing from her purse, which was placed in the center console of the ambulance while she was working.
The paramedic told police that Carulli was the only person who had access to the ambulance at the time that her wallet went missing.
Carulli returned the stolen wallet after she was arrested, but $120 in cash was missing.
Police said that Carulli’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Jacob Ryan Dromgoole, was hit and killed after he left his car and walked on the westbound lane of Mullica Hill Rd.
Carulli did not disclose why her boyfriend left and walked away while leaving her behind in the vehicle before he was killed.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped and waited for police. The driver was not charged in the death of Dromgoole.
