Prankster uses phone app to control McDonald’s restaurant TV causing it to stream porn movie

McDonald’s in the United Kingdom, apologized to its customers after a prankster used a phone app to stream porn on a restaurant television.

32-year-old Chris Barnes of Hemel Hempstead, said that he was eating at the McDonald’s in the early hours of Wednesday morning, when he noticed a naked woman on the television screen.

Barnes was eating chicken nuggets by himself, but the porn movie was visible in most of the dining area. However, staff members said that they were unable to see what was shown on the television screen.

Fortunately, there were no children in the restaurant at the time.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said that porn is not appropriate for a family friendly restaurant, and the company regrets that the content was visible for a short time.

After examining surveillance footage, it was determined that the channel was set by people outside the restaurant made possible by a phone app that can control TVs.

The TVs are in place to improve the customer experience at the restaurants, allowing them to access news, weather and travel information.
