Gossip site sued by Kim Kardashian apologizes for denying Paris robbery, says she ‘in no way deserved this’

A gossip site slapped with a lawsuit for reporting that Kim Kardashian’s robbery was a hoax is now trying to make amends with the star.

MediaTakeOut.com issued an apology to Kardashian on Friday, writing that she “in no way deserved what happened to her.”

“We can understand how reports questioning if the robbery in fact took place can be hurtful, and so we apologize,” the statement reads.

“No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience. Kim is not just celebrity, she is a person, a wife and a mother,” the post continues.

“We wish her the best as she emotionally recovers from the traumatic incident.”

On Tuesday, Kardashian filed a suit in Manhattan Federal Court stating that the site “claimed, without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars.”

The three articles the “Selfish” author is suing over have since been removed from the site.

MediaTakeOut.com’s founder Fred Mwangaguhunga admitted fault during an interview with CNN on Friday, noting that some of its reported had gone too far.

“Looking back at it… It’s now clear that she was robbed. It’s clear that the reporting that we did hurt her, and we certainly don’t want that to be what we do.”

The lawsuit is still underway, but Mwangaguhunga told CNN he believes it will be resolved “very soon.”

The 35-year-old reality TV personality was tied up and robbed at gunpoint of $5.6 million dollars worth of jewelry in a Paris hotel on Oct. 3.

Since the incident, the star has rarely been out in public and is reportedly not doing well.
