Elephant rushes into lake to save man who appeared to be drowning

A loyal elephant sprang into action after seeing its trainer apparently in distress while swimming in a lake, according to a video that was uploaded to the Internet.

Kham Lha, 4, which is the youngest elephant at the Elephant Nature Park of Thailand, can be seen jumping into a lake to rescue its trainer identified as Darrick.

The video that has since gone viral shows Darrick apparently in distress in middle of the lake. As soon as Kham Lha noticed Darrick in distress, the elephant ran into the water.

At first, Kham Lha had a difficult time getting to Darrick, but after a few minutes, it finally caught up. As soon as the elephant reached Darrick, it placed its trunk on the trainer.

It then gently pushed Darrick to shore with its body. The video ends with Kham Lha and Darrick hugging each other.

“This video show the bond between Darrick and elephant Kham Lha at the Elephant Nature Park. When she thought Darrick was in trouble, she rushed to the river and tried to save him. This shows us that when we treat animals with love, they always pay love back to us,” elephantnews wrote on YouTube.
