Brad Pitt has not responded to Angelina Jolie’s divorce petition in hopes of being granted joint custody: report

Brad Pitt is keeping the focus on his six children as his divorce battle rages on, according to reports.

The “Fight Club” actor did not file a legal response to Angelina Jolie’s divorce petition by the Wednesday deadline — and does not want to — because he fears it would cause a nasty legal battle that would negatively impact the pair’s children, TMZ reported.

The father-of-six is hoping to gain joint physical custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 and doesn’t want a legal response to wage a war against his estranged wife, according to the gossip site.

Pitt saw his five youngest children earlier this week for the first time since Sept. 14, when he reportedly got into a mid-air altercation with his eldest son, Maddox.

The two eventually reconnected on Wednesday for the first time since the incident, which had led to an anonymous source reported that Pitt was both physically and emotionally abusive to his son.

Maddox allegedly had refused to attend the meeting with Pitt as sources told Us Weekly he “doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son.”

On Tuesday, the FBI interviewed Jolie over the alleged incident after the case was forwarded to the department by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

Pitt’s reunions with his children were both supervised by a therapist as part of the couple’s temporary custody agreement, which expired on Thursday.

The “Maleficent” star filed for divorce from Pitt on Sept. 19, citing irreconcilable differences. She listed a date of separation as Sept. 15.
