Baggage handler nearly freezes to death after getting locked into cargo section of passenger plane during flight

A passenger plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a baggage handler nearly froze to death in the cargo section, according to aviation officials in Portugal.

The Boeing 777-300 took off from Porto, and was heading to Luanda, Angola.

After several minutes, the airport personnel realized that the baggage handler was missing. The TAAG Angola Airlines crew was contacted and the plane made an emergency landing at the Lisbon Airport.

The baggage handler, who was not identified, was found in the cargo section, and he was suffering from hypothermia. He was rushed to hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

Doctors believe that the baggage handler will recover.

According to the police investigation, the baggage handler was loading boxes of pets into the cargo section when he hit his head and fell unconscious.

Nobody noticed that he was missing until after the plane took off.
