Police launched an investigation after four adults were killed at a popular amusement park in front of children, according to police in Australia.
Queensland police said that the incident unfolded on Tuesday, as the four adults and two children were enjoying the Thunder River Rapids ride at Dreamworld.
The ride, which takes people in a raft in a man made river, malfunctioned, causing the adults and children get crushed and remain underwater.
The two children were rescued, but the four adults died at the scene. The amusement park was shut down following the accident.
The victims were identified as Kate Goodchild, 32, her brother Luke Dorsett, 35, his partner Roozi Araghi, 38, and their friend, Cindy Low, 42.
Two children, Low’s 10-year-old son and a 12-year-old girl, suffered light injuries.
