13-year-old boy’s leg is amputated after teacher body slammed him three times

A mother is very angry after her son lost his leg due to a teacher’s negligence.

When 13-year-old Montravious Thomas of Georgia, came off the school bus with a limp, his mother questioned him.

The boy, who was in his first day of an alternative program for students who violate behavior rules, told his mother that he was assaulted by his teacher Bryant Mosley, who is a behavioral specialist.

An attorney for Thomas, said that he tried to leave the classroom when Mosley grabbed him and threw him to the ground.

He then proceeded to body slam the boy two more times. Thomas was clearly hurt during the ordeal, but the school did not call his mother or seek medical care before sending him home as if nothing happened.

The boy was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital, where he underwent surgery, but doctors were unable to save his leg and it was amputated.

Mosley was a contracted worker at the Muscogee County School District, and is no longer employed there.

The school released a statement, saying in part: “It is our understanding that there were issues concerning the safety of the child and others in the room, which called for the use of restraint per state guidance.

“Physical restraint is allowed in Georgia public schools and educational programs in those situations in which the student is an immediate danger to himself or others and the student is not responsive to less intensive behavioral interventions, including verbal directives or other de-escalation techniques.”

The student’s family is now suing the school for $5 million.
