Young teacher stabbed 27 times on street after rejecting marriage proposal from stalker

A man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly stabbing a young teacher on the street because she rejected his marriage proposal, according to police in India.

Delhi police said that they have arrested 34-year-old Surender Singh, after being accused of stabbing Karuna Kumar, 21, more than 27 times.

In court, Singh pleaded not guilty to one count of murder.

According to police, video surveillance footage showed Singh approaching Kumar on the street before he began stabbing her.

After she fell to the ground, Kumar tried to get away, but she was unsuccessful. Singh was seen kicking and stabbing her 27 times.

Many people tried to intervene, but they had no success.

Kumar died at the scene. According to the police investigation, Singh had been stalking the victim, who was a school teacher, for more than a year.

He proposed marriage several times, but was always rejected.

The rejection did not go down well, and Singh threatened to kill her.

Kumar filed a report with the police, and after Singh promised to live her alone, he was let go, but on Tuesday, he stabbed her 27 times.
