A woman and her boyfriend were arrested on a charge of sexual assault after being accused of keeping girls as sex slaves in a basement, according to police in Canada.
Now, 22-year-old Caroline Budd of Ottawa, has been sentenced to serve two years in prison after being convicted of sexual assault and forcible confinement.
Her boyfriend, 33-year-old Anthony Comunale, was also convicted of sexual assault and forcible confinement.
According to the criminal complaint, the two 16-year-old girls were plied with alcohol by Budd, before they were locked up in the basement of her mother’s home.
The two girls were then repeatedly raped by Budd and Comunale. One of the girls told investigators that she cried and begged them to stop, but Budd and Comunale just laughed.
Budd’s attorney claimed that the two girls were pretty little liars who made up the story to fool their parents about their alcohol consumption.
