A gay couple was found dead at a beach in what police call a murder-suicide.
The couple was being investigated for having sex with three different teenagers on separate occasions.
One of the teenagers and his parents went to police after the boy had a threesome with the teacher and his husband.
The boy’s parents of Minnesota, told police that the Lincoln Elementary School teacher offered to mentor their son when he came out as gay.
However, instead of helping the 16-year-old boy, Aric Babbitt, 40, and his husband, Matthew Deyo, 36, had sex with the boy.
The couple allegedly plied the child with drugs and alcohol before Babbitt and Deyo had unprotected sex with him. The boy said that he woke up to the teacher touching him.
The couple also allegedly shared their pornography videos with the boy.
South St. Paul schools Superintendent Dave Webb said that Babbitt was placed on paid administrative leave after the district learned of the allegations against him.
A coroner said that Deyo shot his husband before turning the gun on himself while they were on vacation on a beach on Lopez Island, Washington.
Babbitt’s sister, Sara, said that the couple sent a text message to loved ones before their deaths, revealing that they “felt like they didn’t have a way out and ending their lives was best for them.”
The couple was not charged with any crime.
