Selena Gomez can’t keep her hands to herself but apparently she has no problem withholding her digits.
The pop star recently got a fresh phone number and is instructing those close to her not to share it with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, an insider told Us Weekly.
“She told everyone not to give it to him,” the source told the magazine.
Gomez, 24, began her tumultuous on-again, off-again romance with the 22-year-old Bieber in 2011, but the songstress doesn’t seem to have any intentions of diving back into that same old love at the moment.
Her apparent decision to block Bieber from receiving her phone number stems from their contentious war of words over Instagram last month, during which Gomez slammed the “Sorry” singer for threatening to make his profile private due to fan backlash against his rumored new flame, Sofia Richie.
“Selena lost it,” the insider dished to the magazine. “She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”
The social media squabble, which took place in the comments section of one of Bieber’s photos with Richie, began with Gomez firing the opening salvo.
“If you can’t handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol. It should be special between you two only,” Gomez wrote on the picture. “Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did.”
The star-powered duo went on to trade several more barbs, and Bieber eventually took down his Instagram page.
Gomez, meanwhile, recently embarked on a hiatus from her career to deal with the side effects of her Lupus diagnosis, which include “anxiety, panic attacks and depression.”
“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off,” she told fans in a statement through People last month.
