Police rescue abducted Indian in Lagos

The police said on Thursday that an Indian man has been rescued from suspected kidnappers in Ikorodu area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, stated this at a weekly news briefing at the state police command, Ikeja.

Owoseni said the Indian was working at a construction site when the incident happened.

“Our men rescued the Indian national before the kidnappers could take him into the creeks. The suspects escaped in their boat,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted the commissioner as saying at the briefing.

Owoseni added that five robbery and one kidnap suspects were arrested in the last one week in different parts of the state.

He said four guns, five cars and other items were recovered from them.
