A nurse is being questioned by the Nursing & Midwifery Council of the United Kingdom, after being accused of exposing herself to a patient and performing sex acts on him.
Julie Porthouse, who was a psychiatric nurse for the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is being charged with sexual touching, performing sex acts, failing to meet professional boundaries and having an inappropriate relationship with a patient.
According to the investigation, Porthouse regularly had sexual contact with her male patient. She even visited his house, where she performed sex acts.
When Porthouse was questioned, she said that she was concerned about his condition as another patient committed suicide.
Porthouse also claimed that her patient needed additional support and she was trying to calm him down, but she denied sexual contact.
