A life guard was raped at gunpoint in broad daylight, while she was working at a swimming pool.
The woman called police after the man ran away.
According to police in Alexandria, Virginia, the 24-year-old woman was working as a lifeguard when a man walked in.
She was alone and nobody else was around. The man then pulled out a gun and ordered her to come with him.
The woman was then abducted and raped at gunpoint. The attack happened on Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of South Pickett Street at about 2:15 p.m., authorities said.
After the rape, the lifeguard ran away. Police are asking people for help in identifying the man who was described as a white male about 35 years old, tall and thin with short hair and dark eyes.
He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans and a blue baseball cap at the time of the assault.
Neighbors are shocked over the alleged attack that took place in broad daylight in an area which they say is always very safe.
