Johnny Depp will be honored for his work with cancer patients on Oct. 3 when presented with the Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Road Award, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“Cancer affects many lives and this year it was my family’s turn,” Depp said in a statement.
“The team at Cedars-Sinai works tirelessly to help people in their darkest moments. Their work is invaluable to all of us, and I will support any opportunity to help shine a light on the cause through Rhonda’s Kiss,” he continued.
The 53-year-old actor has had a tumultuous year following a divorce drama from his ex, Amber Heard, but there’s at a least a temporary light at the end of it.
Just days before the pair split, Depp announced he had lost his 81-year-old mother to an ongoing illness while battling lung cancer.
