The Governor of Benue Dr. Samuel Ortom has commended players and management of Lobi Stars Football club of Makurdi for their outstanding campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League( NPFL).
Governor stated that despite the paucity of funds Lobi Stars players have done well and commended the management of the club under Mike Idoko for the feat achieved so far .
Addressing players of the feeder team who paid him a courtesy call at Government House Makurdi, yesterday, the governor assured the feeder team that once the financial situation of the state improved the government will pay all their entitlements and appealed for understanding.
He said never in the history of the Makurdi club has the team remained among the top 10 team on the NPFL table saying his heart is gladden with the football skill displayed by the boys.
Captain of the feeder team, Tar Terhemen said they were in Government House Makurdi for a solidarity visit to the governor and appealed to him to pay their allowances .
