Department of Education helping 4-year-old child with sex change

People in Australia, are angry after learning that the Department of Education in New South Wales, decided to help a 4-year-old child with gender reassignment surgery.

A clinical psychologist slammed the decision of the Department of Education, saying that 4 years old is way too early for a sex change as children are still in the developmental stage.

Transgender advocates are also criticizing the decision, saying that at 4 years old, a child is too young to make an irreversible decision.

One transgender advocate said that she was surprised that the Department of Education did not take a cautious approach with such a young child.

However, a spokesperson for the Department of Education, said that the 4-year-old child is being helped as part of the Safe Schools initiative to help transgender children, which has no age restriction.

The 4-year-old child is set to start kindergarten soon.

The Department of Education added that many kids are being helped with their sex changes, and 250 kids are undergoing gender reassignment at one major hospital in Melbourne.
