A husband and wife were arrested after blocking a plane at the airport with their bodies after arriving too late to catch the flight, according to police in China.
Now, the husband and wife of Beijing, have been sentenced to five days in prison and were given a fine of $99.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Wednesday around 9:00 a.m.
The couple arrived at the airport late and learned that they missed their Air China flight number CA1519 from Beijing to Shanghai.
The couple was desperate to make the flight so they knocked down security guards and rushed onto the runway to catch the plane, which was preparing for take off.
The woman stood in front of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with her luggage and begged the crew to allow her on board. They ignored warnings from security guards and threatened the crew of the aircraft.
Airport police arrived 20 minutes later, and the two were arrested.
They claimed that the airline has not given them the correct flight information, but the departure time was written on their tickets.
