A tourist was arrested on a charge of voyeurism after being caught recording women inside a department store toilet, according to police in Thailand.
Chiang Mai police said that they have arrested 65-year-old Patrick Peeser of France, after being caught with an empty packet of Viagra and a cellphone containing videos of women using the toilet.
The victim told police that she screamed for help when she saw a hand holding a cellphone above her cubicle. Security guards rushed into the bathroom and detained Peeser until police arrived at the scene.
Police searched Peeser’s bag, where they found a smartphone containing 12 video of young women using the toilet.
They also found a camera and an empty packet of Viagra. The victim demanded $1,500 in exchange for not pressing charges against Peeser.
According to police, the suspect admitted to having secretly taken video clips of several women in the toilet of the department store.
In France, he worked as an archaeologist, but has since retired.
He keeps himself busy by traveling around the world.
