Parents of a young boy were shocked to learn that their child wandered outside in middle of the night and took his toy car for a joyride on the street, according to police in South Carolina.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said that a good Samaritan called police after seeing the 2-year-old boy riding his toy car in middle of the street.
The incident unfolded early on Sunday morning.
The woman who called the police, found the boy, who was wearing a diaper and gray pants, riding his battery powered toy car.
Luckily, the boy was not struck by an oncoming vehicle or kidnapped. The woman took the boy to her home, and waited for police to arrive at around 2:00 a.m.
The police followed the tracks of the BMW x6 toy car back to the boy’s home. They woke up the boy’s parents, who were shocked to learn that their child wandered off in middle of the night.
The Department of Social Services was notified about the incident, but police did not file any charges, saying that they found no signs of neglect.
