18-year-old exotic dancers suing government after being banned from performing naked

A group of exotic dancers who are under the age of 21, filed a lawsuit against the state of Louisiana, after being banned from performing naked, according to court documents.

The practice was prohibited for the safety of young women, according to lawmakers.

However, an attorney representing the group of young dancers, claims that the prohibition violates his clients’ right to freedom of expression.

The ban is also discriminatory as the men are allowed to perform naked under the age of 21.

The dancers said that the prohibition will not keep them safe as they plan to become prostitutes to earn a living instead of dancing in clubs.

When the ban was discussed, Rep. Kenneth Havard, proposed an amendment that would have to require dancers to be younger than 28 and weigh less than 160 pounds, but it failed.
