A woman was arrested on a charge of misusing the 911 telephone system after being accused of calling the police to tell officers to go to hell, according to police in Florida.
West Palm Beach police said that they have arrested 54-year-old Deborah Harris, after she sat in a bar and called police 20 times, just to tell officers to go to hell.
Harris was charged with misusing the 911 system. If convicted, she faces up to a year in prison and a fine of up to $1,000.
According to the police investigation, Harris dialed 911, but could not explain why she called. A police officer who responded to the scene, found Harris sitting in a bar.
She told him “go to hell.” The officer left without further incident, but the calls did not stop. Within the next half hour, Harris called police 14 more times.
Each time, she used profanity and never gave a reason for the calls.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the same officer who responded the first time, arrived at the scene and warned Harris that she would go to jail if she called 911 one more time.
Harris called again an hour later. Officers responded to the O’Shea’s Irish Pub and arrested her. Harris has been arrested in the past for misusing the 911 system.
