A man made a fool out of himself after threatening to embarrass and airplane pilot on social media.
The traveler is now facing federal charges after pushing a flight attendant to the ground before threatening the pilot who came to her rescue.
25-year-old Michael Kerr was on a one-hour flight from Lexington, Kentucky, to Charlotte, North Carolina, when he allegedly drank a few rounds of Jack Daniels.
When the American Airlines flight was taxiing down the runway at the Charlotte Douglas International airport, Kerr began walking to the exit.
A flight attendant tried to explain to him that it was not safe to get up and that he needed to sit, but he refused to obey orders.
When the female flight attendant tried to block the drunk man from exiting the plane, he tried to push her out of the way.
The pilot then asked Kerr to sit down, but when he continued pushing the flight attendant, the pilot tackled him to the ground and restrained him with a seatbelt until police came aboard and took him into custody.
While he was down on the ground, Kerr threatened the pilot that he will be shamed on social media. “Whatever you do is going to Facebook, and you’re a complete loser,” Kerr screamed.
He then warned the pilot that he can still save face by letting go of him, but the pilot was not impressed with the drunk passenger.
Kerr was charged with being intoxicated and disruptive, assault, threats, and interfering with flight crew tasks.
He was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail, and was released the next day $25,000 bond.
