U.S. Marine throws glass in restaurant employee’s head while drunk in Japan

A U.S. Marine was arrested on a charge of bodily injury after allegedly throwing a glass in the head of a restaurant employee, according to police in Japan.

Okinawa police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Corporal James Louis Mackie of Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, after being accused of being drunk at the restaurant and assaulting the 26-year-old employee.

In court, Mackie pleaded not guilty to a charge of bodily injury.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Sunday around 10:00 p.m. Mackie was at the restaurant, where he drank several glasses of alcohol.

At some point, he picked up his glass at threw it at the head of the restaurant employee. The employee suffered minor injuries.

During questioning, Mackie told police that he does not remember anything because he was drunk.
