A married teacher was arrested for having sex with a student while her husband was sleeping.
Nicole Jakubiak, 36, of Cypress, Texas, boasted to her colleagues about her sexual relationship with the student and they reported her to the principal, who then called police.
One of the teachers said that one day, Jakubiak was in a rush to get home so she can spend time with the student before her husband arrived from work.
Another teacher said that Jakubiak told her that she and the student had sex on the couch during the night, while her husband was sleeping.
Authorities said that the victim is an exchange student from Sweden, who was living with Jakubiak and her husband.
When she was arrested, Jakubiak reportedly told police that she did not do anything wrong because the boy, who is in high school, is 18 years old.
However, the first grade teacher did not know that under state law, it is illegal for an educator to have a sexual relationship with a student in the same school district even if the student is of legal age.
Investigators said that they found inappropriate photos and text messages from Jakubiak on the student’s iPhone, which proved that they were having sex.
Prosecutors said that the two had sex about 25 times in two months, mostly while her husband was at work.
If convicted, Jakubiak could get up to 20 years in prison.
