Sokoto Govt. issues N19m loan to fish farmers

Sokoto State Government said on Monday that it released N19 million loan to 140 fish farmers in the state to boost their production.

Alhaji Tukur Alkali, Commissioner for Animal Health and Fishery Development said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Sokoto.

He said that the measure was part of the state government’s commitment to ensure the development of fish farming in the state .

Alkali said that the government would continue to initiate policies and programmes that would strengthen the production of assorted fishes in the state.

He called on the benefitting farmers to utilize the loans for purpose it was made for. ( NAN)
