Serena Williams bemoans sitting on team USA bus for hours… before cheering up and twerking during Olympics opening ceremony

Tennis champ Serena William gave fans the highlights and low lights of the Olympics’ opening ceremony on Friday night.

While the 34-year-old was clearly excited to take part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, it seems the first night got off to a bit of a rough start for the athlete.

Before Serena even stepped foot inside the arena to walk alongside her teammates, the athlete bemoaned to her Snapchat fans that she was already ‘ready to go’ after sitting inside the bus en route to the ceremony for what felt ‘like six or seven hours.’

‘So I don’t mean to be Debbie Downer or a Serena Downer, but I’m kind of ready to go,’ Serena said from inside the bus, likely indicating she was ready to head off to the arena.
‘I’m really tired, I’m overwhelmed,’ Serena added.

‘We’ve been on the bus for what seems like six or seven hours I’m cold and now I understand we have another three hours,’ she told her fans.
She also shared a snap of herself sitting inside the bus with the caption ‘Hungry face’ written at the bottom of the frame.

Once inside the arena, Serena’s spirits lifted considerably.
‘We are in the opening ceremonies, this is so cool!’ Serena gushed as she walked inside the arena.
Aside from mingling with her teammates, the athlete couldn’t help but take a bit of a dance break as she walked by an upbeat tune.

The athlete twerked a bit as the parade unfolded.

Overall, aside from the bus drama, the night proved to be a magical one for the tennis champ.
‘I had the best time tonight,’ Serena told her followers as she laid in bed,  ‘And I’m just so happy to be part of this great team, so good night everyone.’

Serena, a four time Olympic gold medalist, will be competing in both singles and doubles at this year’s Olympics in Rio.
Her sister Venus, with whom she won gold for doubles in 2000, 2008, and 2012, will also be heading to the Rio Olympics.
