A pregnant woman was rushed to a hospital after setting herself on fire because her husband cheated on her with another woman, according to police in Kenya.
27-year-old Cynthia Njoki of Nakuru, is in critical condition at the Level Five hospital after dousing herself with gasoline and lighting herself on fire.
Doctors said that Njoki suffered burns on 45 percent of her body as her hands, abdomen, thighs and face were injured. She is also having breathing problems after inhaling fumes.
Tests on the baby revealed an irregular heartbeat.
According to the police investigation, Njoki tried to kill herself in her home after her husband refused to reveal where he spent Saturday night.
She suspected that her husband was having an affair with another woman and became very angry. She then decided to end her life by burning myself.
The husband denied the allegations. So far, no charges have been filed.
