Phelps qualifies for semifinals in 100 fly

Michael Phelps continued his march toward another all-gold medal haul Thursday afternoon.

He qualified fourth in the men’s 100 butterfly, an event he’s won in each of the last three Olympic Games. He’ll swim in the semifinals Thursday night and, in all likelihood, the final Friday night.

Before that, though, he will compete in his final race against rival Ryan Lochte. The two will square off Thursday night in the men’s 200 individual medley final.

Phelps, the most decorated Olympian ever, has already added three gold medals to his name this week — in the 4×100 free relay, 200 fly and 4×200 free relay.
