McDonald’s throws out student suffering from Crohn’s disease for asking to use the bathroom

People in the United Kingdom, expressed their outrage after learning that McDonald’s workers and a manager kicked out a student who is suffering from Crohn’s disease.

22-year-old Liam Seacombe of Huddersfield, said that he was enjoying a night out in town on Thursday, when he suddenly became ill around 3:00 a.m.

He went into a McDonald’s, where he asked the staff for the key to the bathroom. The workers refused, saying that the toilets were closed for the night.

Seacombe showed a manager his “Urgent Can’t Wait” card, which attests to his medical condition. Crohn’s disease can cause sudden nausea and vomiting as well as diarrhea.

Seacombe told the manager about the card and his illness, but he insisted that the toilets were completely inaccessible. The manager then called security guards who kicked him out of the restaurant.

After McDonald’s corporate headquarters learned about the incident, a spokesperson apologized for any embarrassment or discomfort caused to Seacombe.
