A young man vomited and had to be pulled out from a public toilet after trying to retrieve his friend’s cellphone, according to police in Norway.
20-year-old Cato Berntsen Larsen of Drammen, had to be rescued by firefighters after trying to help out his friend.
The incident began when Larsen and his friend went to a public toilet to relieve themselves. While his friend was using the toilet, his cellphone fell inside the toilet bowl, which is only emptied once a year.
Larsen, who is a diver, volunteered to get the phone. He was able to squeeze himself into the toilet bowl, but he was unable to get out.
In the end, he spent about an hour standing in urine, feces and vomit as he threw up from the pungent smell. Firefighters had to completely destroy the toilet to free Larsen.
Larsen suffered minor injuries in the upper arms, as well as several animal bites. He was given antibiotics. Despite his best efforts, he was not able to recover his friend’s phone.
